We are a couple photo enthusiast. We are only amateurs but we spend time trying to rediscover the excitement of the film. Compared to perfect digital pictures, we try to rediscover the emotion that can only come from imperfection.
We love to capture landscapes, pictures of animals or stars.
We avoid flash, which is useless for landscape, and disturb animals. We use for the pleasure of vintage effect the manual focus : there's not always perfect, but the pics are our pics and not the pics of our camera !!!!!
We use too of very bit aperture : the depth of field is small, but the effect is more interesting: it's easy enough not to make a perfect focus in these conditions, but at least we are moving forward rather than relying solely on the camera and thus the standardised digital pictures. We avoid cropping because it's cheating, even if we use some primes. We do not hesitate to rework by light and color, because anyway the light of a digital is rarely natural.
For landscape we want to emphasize the color.
For animals what matters is not always the color quality (we have not always the best camera with us) but really the expression of animals and situations : any staging is excluded because nothing uglier than the dressing for a photo.
